There will be one Board of Education seat up for election for a full five (5) year term to begin on July 1, 2024 and to expire on June 30, 2029. If you are interesting in running for the Dover UFSD Board of Education, please email the District Clerk at Nicole.Wilkinson@doverschools.org for a nomination packet.

Voter Qualifications:

In order to vote in the Annual District Budget/Candidate Vote, you must be:

  1. A citizen of the United States

  2. Eighteen (18) years of age

  3. A resident of the district for a period of thirty (30) days prior to the date of the vote

Early Mail Ballots

New this year is the ability to vote early by mail.  Voters requesting an early mail ballot need not supply a reason why they cannot appear in person at the polls on election day. 

An application bearing the voter’s signature must be completed before a ballot can be issued to the voter or designee. 

To Request an Early Mail Ballot:

Applications may also be requested by calling the District Clerk at 845-877-5700 ext. 1282 or emailing Nicole.Wilkinson@doverschools.org and request to have it mailed to you; or you can visit the District Clerk at the the Dover UFSD 2368 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY to fill out an application in-person.

The application must be printed, ink signed by the voter, and returned to the District Clerk.

To Return an Application:

Early Mail Ballot Application must be received by the District Clerk no earlier than 4/22/2024.

If the early mail ballot is to be mailed to the applicant, the application must be received by the District Clerk no later than seven (7) days before the election (May 14).  If the early mail ballot is to be delivered in person to the voter or designee, the application must be received no later than the day before the election (May 20).  

After the District Clerk receives your School District Early Mail Ballot Application, you will be mailed/given the actual ballot to cast your vote.

TO RETURN EARLY MAIL BALLOT:

The Early Mail Ballot must be received by the District Clerk no later than 5:00pm on the day of the election (May 21, 2024).
